Usage Note
Freischwimmer is the German swimming certificate earned by children (typically age 6–12) showing they can swim 200 m unsupervised. It is a cultural milestone: den Freischwimmer machen (to get one's Freischwimmer). Comes before the advanced Fahrtenschwimmer.
