Katzenhai (Scyliorhinus canicula) is the small-spotted catshark, the most common shark in German coastal waters. It is a small, harmless bottom-dweller. Under the name Schillerlocke (a curled smoked product), it has been sold as a delicacy at German fish markets for decades.
