Usage Note

Moment is another gender trap: der Moment (masculine) is an instant in time, while das Moment (neuter) is a technical 'factor' or physics 'moment'. Everyday speech uses the masculine, as in Moment mal! ('hang on a sec!'). Plural Momente.
