endlich

finally

adverb ENT-likh Less Common

Also means

at last

Usage Note

endlich expresses relief that something long-awaited has happened: Endlich Urlaub! ('finally, vacation!'). Don't confuse it with schließlich, which is a neutral 'in the end'; endlich always carries that emotional 'at last' punch.
