gerecht describes a person, action, or decision that is fair and equitable. It is one of the most fundamental ethical adjectives in German. Collocates with gerechte Strafe (just punishment), gerechter Lohn (fair wage), and gerecht behandeln (to treat fairly). The comparative gerechter is frequently used.
