Usage Note
kniebeugen is an infinitive used mainly in noun phrases and instructions: Kniebeugen machen (to do squats). The verb form itself (er kniet/beugt die Knie) is less common; in practice the compound noun die Kniebeuge (squat exercise) dominates.

"Er macht täglich zwanzig Kniebeugen zur Kräftigung der Beine."
Natural Translation
He does twenty squats daily to strengthen his legs.
Literal Translation
He makes daily twenty knee-bends for-the strengthening of-the legs.
