Usage Note
Nachahmen means to copy someone's speech, gestures or behavior. Die Stimme nachahmen — to imitate someone's voice. Used both positively (learning by imitation) and negatively (mockery). The noun Nachahmung is common; zur Nachahmung empfehlen — to recommend as a model.

Natural Translation
He imitated his teacher's dialect so well that everyone laughed.
Literal Translation
He imitated the dialect of his teacher so well, that all laughed.
