Usage Note

Nachahmen means to copy someone's speech, gestures or behavior. Die Stimme nachahmen — to imitate someone's voice. Used both positively (learning by imitation) and negatively (mockery). The noun Nachahmung is common; zur Nachahmung empfehlen — to recommend as a model.
