Architekt
architect
noun ar-khi-TEKT Less Common
Origin: from Greek arkhitekton 'master builder'
Usage Note
Architekt follows the weak masculine (n-declension): it takes -en in all cases except the nominative singular, e.g. ich kenne den Architekten. The female form is Architektin. The 'ch' here is the hard 'k' sound from its Greek root.

The architect plans a new house.
