Besatzung

crew

noun be-ZAT-sung Less Common

Usage Note

Besatzung has two senses from besetzen ('to occupy, to man'): the 'crew' of a ship or plane, and a military 'occupation' of a territory. Context disambiguates; for a ship's crew Mannschaft is also common.
