Usage Note
Gesetzbuch is a codified body of law. The two most famous are the Buergerliches Gesetzbuch (civil code, BGB) and the Strafgesetzbuch (criminal code, StGB). It is a compound of Gesetz (law) plus Buch (book), and the plural mutates the vowel.
