Usage Note
Hörsaal is the large university lecture theatre, literally a 'hearing hall'. The largest one is often the Audimax (Auditorium Maximum). Note the irregular plural Hörsäle with umlaut. This is a distinctly academic word; schools use Klassenzimmer instead.
