Usage Note

Konservator is responsible for the care, preservation, and documentation of objects in a museum or archive collection. Distinct from Restaurator (who actively repairs objects). Feminine: Konservatorin. In German museum hierarchy Konservator can also be a curatorial/scholarly position title.
