Usage Note

Lobhudelei (f) is a pejorative compound for excessive, insincere praise that goes over the top. 'Das ist doch alles Lobhudelei' (That is all just empty flattery). Compare Schmeichelei (flattery), which is less extreme. The -hudel- component suggests slovenly excess.
