Usage Note

Margerite (Leucanthemum vulgare) is the large white daisy of German meadows, much bigger than Gänseblümchen. Associated with wildflower meadows (Blumenwiesen) and pastoral landscapes. Children pluck its petals in the fortune-telling game er liebt mich, er liebt mich nicht ('he loves me, he loves me not').
