Naturheilkunde is a branch of complementary medicine using natural means such as herbal remedies (Kräuterheilkunde), water therapy (Hydrotherapie), and lifestyle changes to support healing. It has a long tradition in Germany. A Heilpraktiker (non-medically trained natural health practitioner) often practises it.
