Pflichtteil

statutory share; compulsory portion of an estate

Usage Note

Pflichtteil is the minimum share of an estate that close relatives (children, spouse, sometimes parents) are entitled to even if excluded from the will. It equals half the statutory intestate share and is a claim in money, not in kind.

Natural Translation
