Usage Note

Redepause (f) is a pause specifically within a speech or presentation, as opposed to a pause in casual conversation. Used in rhetoric and broadcasting: 'eine effektvolle Redepause einlegen' (to make an effective pause for effect). Slightly more formal than Sprechpause.
