Usage Note
Staffel is the standard word for a TV series 'season' (a single episode is a Folge), so streaming menus list Staffel 1, Staffel 2. In sport it means a relay team or relay race, as in 4x100-Meter-Staffel. Originally it meant a rung or tier, hence its sense of an ordered group.
