Usage Note
Teich is masculine (der Teich). A Teich is a man-made or small natural body of standing water, smaller than a See (lake); garden ponds (Gartenteiche) and fish ponds (Fischteiche) are common, and the word is also used figuratively in großer Teich (the Atlantic Ocean).
