Usage Note
Wallfahrt is a pilgrimage to a sacred site, especially within Catholic tradition; the destination is a Wallfahrtsort. The first element comes from old wallen (to wander, journey). Largely synonymous with Pilgerfahrt but more rooted in German Catholic usage.
