Wanderfalke

peregrine falcon

noun VAN-der-fal-ke Rare

Usage Note

Wanderfalke (Falco peregrinus) is the world's fastest animal in a dive (over 300 km/h). It recovered from near-extinction caused by DDT and now nests on cathedral towers in German cities. Wanderer suggests it was once thought to be a wandering bird.

Natural Translation
