Usage Note

Zöliakie is a chronic autoimmune disorder triggered by gluten in which the small intestine is damaged. It must be distinguished from Glutenunverträglichkeit (non-coeliac gluten sensitivity). The only treatment is a strict lifelong gluten-free diet (glutenfreie Ernährung).
