Usage Note
bayerisch is the adjective for things from Bavaria, southern Germany's largest state. Spelled with a 'y' for the general adjective, but note the official state name itself is der Freistaat Bayern; the spelling bairisch is reserved for the dialect. Unlike English, German adjectives of origin are not capitalised.
