Usage Note
Klarmachen means to communicate something unambiguously; jemandem etwas klarmachen means to make something clear to someone. More forceful than erklären and often implies the listener has been or might be unclear.

"Er machte ihr unmissverständlich klar, dass eine Wiederholung nicht toleriert würde."
Natural Translation
He made it unambiguously clear to her that a repetition would not be tolerated.
Literal Translation
He made to her unmistakably clear that a repetition not tolerated would be.
