lassen

let

verb LAS-sen Common

Also means

have done

Usage Note

lassen is hugely productive: it means 'let/allow', 'leave (something somewhere)', or 'have something done' (Ich lasse das Auto reparieren = 'I have the car repaired'). In the perfect with another verb it uses a bare infinitive, not a participle: Ich habe es machen lassen.
