mithin is a formal conjunctional adverb, 'therefore, consequently', drawing a logical inference, e.g. die Frist ist abgelaufen, mithin ist der Antrag ungültig. It is favoured in legal and philosophical argument and inverts the following verb.

"Die Bedingung ist erfüllt, mithin gilt der Vertrag."
Natural Translation
The condition is met, therefore the contract is valid.
Literal Translation
The condition is fulfilled, therefore applies the contract.
