never

adverb NEE Common

Usage Note

nie means 'never' and is intensified to nie wieder ('never again') or the emphatic niemals. It pairs naturally with noch nie ('never yet / never before'): Ich war noch nie in Berlin. Keep it distinct from nichts ('nothing') and niemand ('nobody').

Examples

"Ich vergesse das nie."

Natural Translation

I'll never forget that.

Literal Translation

I forget that never.
