Origin: from noch ('still') plus *-mals'

Usage Note

nochmals means 'once more' and is a slightly more formal variant of noch einmal or nochmal. It often opens polite thanks, as in nochmals vielen Dank ('thanks again'). The -s ending marks it as adverbial, like abends or erstmals.
