Usage Note
schicken is the everyday word for sending letters, messages or people, taking a dative recipient: Ich schicke dir eine E-Mail. It overlaps with the more formal senden, but for parcels and texts schicken feels more natural. Note the unrelated adjective schick (chic, stylish).
