Usage Note
sonst means 'otherwise' or 'or else', warning of a consequence: Beeil dich, sonst kommen wir zu spät. In questions it means 'else', as in Sonst noch etwas? ('Anything else?'). It can also mean 'usually' or 'normally' when describing what is typical.
