täglich means 'daily' both as an adjective (die tägliche Dosis) and as an adverb (zweimal täglich, 'twice daily'). It echoes the Vaterunser phrase unser tägliches Brot ('our daily bread'). The same -lich pattern builds wöchentlich ('weekly') and monatlich ('monthly').
