Usage Note
zurechtweisen means to correct or reprimand someone firmly, showing them the proper way to behave or speak. It is more decisive than ermahnen and implies the person was clearly out of line. 'jemanden scharf zurechtweisen' (to sharply rebuke someone) is a common collocation.
