Gastritis is inflammation of the stomach lining (Magenschleimhaut) caused by bacterial infection (Helicobacter pylori), excessive alcohol, or anti-inflammatory drugs. Symptoms include stomach pain, nausea, and loss of appetite. Chronic gastritis can lead to stomach ulcers (Magengeschwür).
