Usage Note

Panikattacke is a sudden episode of intense fear accompanied by physical symptoms such as rapid heartbeat, sweating, and shortness of breath. It is distinct from chronic Angststörung (anxiety disorder) but may occur within one. Kognitive Verhaltenstherapie is the primary treatment.
