Usage Note
Parteivorsitz is the top leadership position within a political party, held by the Parteivorsitzende. It is separate from holding government office: a chancellor may simultaneously hold the Parteivorsitz or hand it to another person. Leadership contests are called Parteivorsitzwahlen.
