Usage Note
Pflegestufe was the old German term for care grades (1–3), replaced in 2017 by Pflegegrad (1–5). However Pflegestufe is still commonly heard in everyday speech, especially among older speakers.
Examples
"Sein Vater hat Pflegegrad 3, früher hätte man das Pflegestufe 2 genannt."
Natural Translation
His father has care level 3; in the past this would have been called care grade 2.
Literal Translation
His father has care grade 3, earlier one would that care grade 2 have called.
