Usage Note
Ratsversammlung refers to the plenary meeting of a local or regional council (Rat). Binding resolutions can only be passed in a Ratsversammlung, not in committee. In North Rhine-Westphalia and some other Länder the local council itself is called Rat, making Ratsversammlung the full session of this body.
