Usage Note

Spätzle are small, irregularly shaped egg noodles traditional to Swabia and Bavaria — made from a soft dough pressed through a grater or a special Spätzlehobel (spätzle press). Käsespätzle (with cheese and fried onions) is a beloved regional dish.
