Usage Note

Teichhuhn (Gallinula chloropus) is recognised by its red-and-yellow bill shield and jerky swimming motion. It is common on ponds and slow rivers throughout Germany; unlike the Blässhuhn it prefers vegetated, sheltered waterway margins.
