Usage Note
Tugend is the classic philosophical and theological concept of virtue. The four cardinal virtues (Kardinaltugenden) are Klugheit, Gerechtigkeit, Tapferkeit, Mäßigung. In everyday speech it is slightly formal or ironic: Das ist keine Tugend!
