Usage Note

Wankelmut is the quality of changing opinions, allegiances, or plans unpredictably. It is almost always pejorative; a Wankelmütiger (a fickle person) cannot be relied upon. Contrasted with Beständigkeit (constancy) and Verlässlichkeit (reliability).
