Usage Note

abwaschen in personal care means to wash something off the skin or face: die Maske abwaschen (rinse off the mask). It is also the standard term for doing the washing-up. Separable strong verb (wusch ab, abgewaschen). Reflexive sich abwaschen is less common than sich abspülen.
