Usage Note
babbeln describes incoherent, continuous chatter — used for babies learning to speak, but also dismissively for adults who talk without making sense. Regional but widely understood. Compare plappern (to prattle) — babbeln is somewhat more informal.
Examples
"Das Baby babbelte fröhlich vor sich hin, ohne dass man ein Wort verstehen konnte."
Natural Translation
The baby babbled happily to itself without anyone being able to understand a word.
