enttäuscht

disappointed

adjective ent-TOYSHT Less Common

Usage Note

enttäuscht is the past participle of enttäuschen ('to disappoint') used as an adjective. You are enttäuscht von something or someone (with the dative), e.g. enttäuscht von dir. Note the literal root Täuschung means 'deception', so the word originally implied being freed from an illusion.

Examples
