verschwenderisch describes lavish, wasteful use of money, time or resources, the opposite of sparsam. It can be neutral-to-admiring when it means 'lavish': verschwenderische Pracht (lavish splendour). With umgehen mit it takes the meaning 'to be wasteful with'.
