Rücksicht is consideration for others' needs or feelings, almost always in the idiom Rücksicht nehmen auf (to show consideration for). The literal sense is a backward glance, from Rück- (back) and Sicht (sight). The adjective rücksichtslos means inconsiderate or ruthless.
