Usage Note
Schotterweg refers to an unsealed road or path surfaced with loose gravel, common in rural and forest areas. Distinct from Feldweg (which may be bare earth) — a Schotterweg is specifically gravelled, e.g. for forestry or farm access.

"Der Schotterweg durch den Wald war nach dem Regen kaum befahrbar."
Natural Translation
The gravel track through the forest was barely passable after the rain.
Literal Translation
The gravel-path through the forest was barely driveable after the rain.
