Usage Note

Stimmung is the mood of a person or the atmosphere of a place; gute Stimmung means a good vibe at a party. It derives from Stimme ('voice') and also covers the musical 'tuning' of an instrument. Beware the false friend: it is not 'opinion' (that is Meinung).
